1988 Washburn G-5V Red and Black Cracked Finish

In 1988 I was 17 and had just started playing the guitar.  I was lucky enough to have been given this cracked red and black beauty.  While I know now that there are many things about this axe that take away from the overall tone, I still love it.  It's easy to pick out things like the plywood body, the noisy switch and the hissing single coil pups.   On the plus side the floyd rose licensed tremolo holds tune just as it should.   The action has always been great on this guitar and she screams with the right setup.   I guess the thing that I have always loved about this guitar is the finish.   The blood red body with black cracks (crackle finish) throughout has always kept my attention.    I don't look at this guitar with the same eyes that gaze at a PRS or Gibson at near 40 years of age, I still look at this Washburn through the eyes of a 17 year old playing guitar in the 80's.  Through these eyes this axe is still pretty friggin cool!  As with all of my guitars I've kept this one nice.  I'll be posting some sound clips soon, so check back!
